MENS Support Group

Men Exploring New Strengths (MENS) Support Group

Join us Thursdays 3pm - 4:30pm at the Café Lounge in The Café in The Park (Stamford Road, Altrincham).
No commitment required and totally free.

The new MENS group is run by Jim, a friendly an open counsellor who will be supporting you and others in the group to: Explore YOUR feelings and YOUR issues, to enable new coping strategies and strengths.

Jim is a passionate therapist helping men prioritise their mental health. The Counselling and Family Centre along with Jim, after seeing male clients struggle alone with depression, anxiety, and many other mental health concerns, felt called to do more.

Our weekly support group will allow men to have honest, judgement-free conversations about their mental health in a safe and confidential environment.

Jim understands the unique pressure men face in opening-up about their struggles. That is why he cultivates a space of trust and compassion.

Through sharing stories and resources, he hopes to guide men to realise they're not alone and importantly that “It's OK to ask for help”.

Our weekly men's group will provide a judgement-free space to:

  • Share struggles and insights confidentially.

  • Gain perspective through others' experiences.

  • Explore mental health challenges in a solutions-focused way.

  • Develop healthy stress management and communication skills.

  • Led by a qualified BACP therapist.

We will work through:

  • Activities to connect with each other.

  • Discussing work, relationships, purpose, and more

  • Learning research-based coping strategies

  • Reflecting on growth and insights together

Ideal for men 18+ going through life transitions, mental health challenges, relationship issues, and other sources of stress or loneliness.

Support groups create hope by turning isolation into community.

Find camaraderie, coping skills, clarity and some fun too!

Contact Jim: if you’re interested or have any questions.

We look forward to seeing you there!
